MARITIME

Fruit exports by sea involve the shipment of fresh fruit from a producing country to international markets using maritime transport. This method is ideal for large volumes and long distances, thanks to the use of refrigerated containers that maintain product quality. Countries such as Ecuador, Chile, Peru, and Colombia export fruits such as bananas, grapes, mangoes, and pineapples, primarily to the United States, Europe, and Asia. Logistics must be precise to meet phytosanitary requirements, transit times, and storage conditions.

AIR

Fruit exports by air are primarily used for fresh, delicate, or high-value products that need to be delivered quickly to their destination, such as berries, ripe mangoes, or edible flowers. Although more expensive than sea freight, air freight allows for maintaining freshness and meeting short delivery times, especially to distant or demanding markets. It is commonly used during peak seasons or to fulfill urgent orders, with frequent exports from countries such as Peru, Colombia, and Mexico to the United States, Europe, and Asia.

Fruits

The export of fresh and frozen fruit is a key activity in the agri-food trade. Fresh fruit is exported with strict quality and preservation controls, generally in refrigerated containers, to maintain its freshness during transport, whether by sea or air. Frozen fruit, on the other hand, is processed and stored at very low temperatures, which extends its shelf life and facilitates its transport under more stable conditions. This method is ideal for products such as strawberries, mangoes, or pineapples destined for the food industry. Both types of export require compliance with phytosanitary standards and international certifications.

Vegetables

Vegetable exports involve the shipment of fresh horticultural products to international markets, meeting high standards of quality and safety. They are mainly exported by sea or air, depending on the type of vegetable and the urgency of the destination. Among the most commonly exported are asparagus, broccoli, peppers, and onions. This trade requires an efficient cold chain, adequate packaging, and compliance with the importing country's phytosanitary standards. Countries such as Mexico, Peru, and Guatemala are major exporters to the United States, Europe, and Asia.

GRAINS - BEANS

The export of Andean grains, such as quinoa, kiwicha, and cañihua, has grown significantly in recent years due to their high nutritional value and demand in international markets. These grains are grown primarily in Andean countries such as Peru, Bolivia, and Ecuador, and are mostly exported in a dry state, which facilitates their storage and transportation. Exports require proper cleaning, grading, and packaging processes, as well as organic and fair trade certifications in many cases. The main destinations are the United States, Europe, and Asia.
